Will my pets be safe while you clean?

Accepted Answer

Yes — and we treat it as our job to keep them that way. Our cleaners are background-checked, insured, and used to working in homes with animals. We are careful about open doors and gates, we work around your pets rather than rushing them, and we will never let one slip outside on our watch. If your pet does best crated, gated to one room, or with a heads-up about a "do not open" door, just tell us when you book. We would rather know your routine than guess at it.

Are the products you use safe around dogs and cats?

Accepted Answer

We clean to a high standard while being mindful of the fact that pets lick floors, walk on counters, and nap wherever they please. Our default products are pet-safe on accessible surfaces — floors, low-touch areas, and surfaces pets contact. For cat households, we avoid essential-oil-based products (tea tree, eucalyptus, and citrus oils can be toxic to cats). For dog households, we use floor cleaners that don't leave residue dogs lick off paws. For birds and small mammals, we avoid aerosols. If you have specific sensitivities — a pet with allergies, a product you would rather we not use, or surfaces you want handled a certain way — let us know up front and we will work with you. We always prefer to adjust before the clean than hear about it after.

Can you actually get rid of the pet hair?

Accepted Answer

This is the big one, and it is where a thorough clean really shows. Pet hair hides in carpet fibers, along baseboards, under furniture edges, and in all the spots a quick once-over misses. We use HEPA-filter vacuums (catches what regular vacuums recirculate), send two cleaners on most jobs, and we work to completion, not to a timer — which is exactly what stubborn pet hair takes.

Do I need to be home with my pets during the clean?

That is entirely up to you. Plenty of our customers are home and their pets supervise the whole thing. Plenty more leave us a key or a code and come back to a spotless house. Either way works — we send before-and-after photos on every job, so you can see exactly what we did whether you were there or not. If you are leaving us alone with your pets, just walk us through the basics when you book: feeding, gates, anything off-limits. We have got it from there.

I've never used a cleaning service before — is it weird with pets around?

Accepted Answer

Not at all, and you are in good company. A lot of our pet owners are first-timers, and the nerves are completely normal — strangers in your home, your animals underfoot, valuables around. That is why we lead with the things that earn trust: background-checked cleaners, insurance, photos of the finished work, and a walkthrough at the end so you sign off happy. If you would rather not jump straight into a big deep clean, that is okay too. A lot of folks start with a basic clean to see how we work and how we are with their pets, then go from there.

What should I tell you about my pets when I book?

Accepted Answer

Just the practical stuff that helps us do a great job and keep everyone comfortable: how many pets, and where they will be during the clean (free-roaming, crated, gated to one room); any door, gate, or area that is off-limits; anything we should know about a nervous, reactive, or escape-artist pet; and any products or surfaces you want handled a specific way. The more you tell us, the smoother the day goes. We build the clean around your home and your animals — not the other way around.

Do you charge extra for cleaning a home with pets?

Accepted Answer

Typically no. Pet households are most of what we clean — pet hair and pet-area cleaning are built into our standard pricing. Our recurring cleaning starts at $175 and our deep cleaning at $300 regardless of pet count. The exception: if a home has very heavy shedding requiring 2x vacuum passes, multiple long-haired pets, or accumulated pet-area work from extended periods between cleans, we may quote a small adjustment after seeing the home. We will tell you up front, never after.

Do you clean pet beds, food bowls, or litter boxes?

Accepted Answer

Pet beds: we vacuum them as part of standard recurring cleaning. Removable covers can be washed during a deep clean if accessible. Food and water bowls: we clean the surrounding floor area but do not wash bowls — that is a personal-hygiene item we keep out of our supplies for cross-contamination reasons. Litter boxes: not part of standard cleaning. We will sweep around the box area and replace nearby trash liners. Inside-box cleaning can be requested as a specific add-on, but most customers prefer to handle that themselves between visits.

What if my dog barks during the entire visit?

Accepted Answer

We have worked through it. Many dogs settle within 10–15 minutes once we are stationary in one room and they realize we are not threats. Some never fully settle, and that is fine — cleaners proceed with the work either way. For anxious or reactive dogs, the smoothest visits are usually when the dog is confined to a quiet room with a chew toy or a long-lasting treat. Crating works great if your dog is already crate-trained. Tell us your dog's temperament at booking and we will plan around it.

Can I supply my own pet-safe products?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with 24 hours notice at booking. Common products customers provide: Branch Basics, Method, Mrs. Meyer's, Better Life, Seventh Generation, AspenClean, ECOS, or Force of Nature. Leave the products in an accessible spot with usage notes (which product for which surface, anything to avoid). No discount applies (cleaners spend the same time and labor) but no surcharge either. Do you serve pet owners outside of Knoxville?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We serve pet households throughout Knoxville, Farragut, Maryville, Oak Ridge, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the surrounding East Tennessee corridor. Pet-friendly cleaning protocols are the same regardless of location — same standards, same care, same after-visit photos.
